My PhotoBlog: I have come to understand, true ways to heal spiritually, psychologically and emotionally are non-verbal: through art, music, movement, meditative states, and bodywork/energy work. The language of the soul/psyche is symbols, images, colors, vibrations, sensations, and patterns; we communicate this non-verbally. I have been on an incredible personal growth journey of my own the past few years into the world of art. I have become very involved with John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) in Sheboygan, WI. I am the chair of the JMKAC Indoor Gardens, a member of the Friends of the Arts Council, and a museum docent (teacher/tour guide). I try to take a new art class every month. I started joining my artist husband in his art studio to paint and experiment with making art. Coincidentally, my old office space was located in an art gallery and my current office space is in an entire building of art studios. My preferred social media has become Instagram. I try to post a new photograph every day. I have enjoyed experimenting with art and photography as ways to express myself. So I have decided to have a photoblog to complement this personal and professional journey that I am on.

May 2020 Photo Blog: This is one of my favorite times of the year! My gardens are starting to explode with accelerated growth, the days are getting longer, and nature is alive! My yearly Holistic Healing with Herbs series will also finally be starting in 2 weeks after 2 months of delays because of COVID-19. An herb (also called a botanical or herbaceous plant) is any plant or plant part used for its scent, flavor, food, and/or therapeutic properties. Herbal Medicine is a system of healing that uses plant or plant-derived preparations to treat and prevent health conditions and diseases. It is also the art and science of using herbs for promoting health. A more modern term is Phytotherapy. Herbalists are people who work with medicinal plants. They include native healers, scientists, naturopaths, holistic medical doctors, researchers, writers, herbal pharmacists, medicine makers, wildcrafters, and harvesters. I invite you to join me this spring, summer, and fall and take a holistic healing journey into holistic herbalism with my 8 class series. Herbs have been used globally for thousands of years and were the first form of healthcare! The majority of the world still uses herbal medicine despite the invention of chemical pharmaceuticals. This herbal series will educate you and empower you to take your health and wellness back using mother nature’s pharmacy! Learn how to successfully design, grow, and cultivate your own herb garden. Learn how to make herbal preparations including teas, elixirs, ointments, infusions, tinctures, beverages, and food. Herbal delivery systems, bioavailability, natural remedies, and techniques for mental, emotional, and physical wellness, spiritual development, energy clearing, and metaphysical uses are also covered. The series also focuses on traditional uses, energetics, holistic healing, nutritional healing, clinical research, pharmacology, and safety. I will teach you to use any plant for healing!!

I have three options for you to join the series this year. The Holistic Healing with Herbs series in Sheboygan, WI will start on June 13, 2020. Attendance at the 2020 face to face series will be limited this year to ensure proper social distancing of 6+ feet. At this time, I will only be accepting 2 more students for the whole herbs series. Then I will create a waitlist. If enough are interested, I may offer a second cohort/second round of the series. Please register ASAP to ensure your spot.  I also have 2 online options for the entire herbs series if you prefer to learn from the safety and comfort of your own home. Click here for more info about the LIVE ONLINE MONTHLY Holistic Healing with Herbs classes starting June 23.  Click here for more info about the ONLINE ON-DEMAND SELF PACED Holistic Healing with Herbs series.

“Spring is a time of outward growth, not only in nature, but in us as well. Spring is a great time to look at the goals you’ve set for yourself for the year and to plan them out so you can move forward to meet them. It’s also a time of renewed energy. Paying attention to the rhythms of the seasons can help us to feel more stable and centered as a person. It can also help us see ourselves as part of the bigger picture of nature where everything is working together synergistically. These things can help us to focus and live more mindfully during the coming season. Being attentive to the cycles of nature can impact your physical and emotional health for the better. For the herbalist, it’s a time to celebrate new beginnings and fresh starts,
whether that’s with your studies, your health, or your business.” Quote from herbalist Meagan Visser. I invite you to ponder how you ebb and flow with the cycles of nature as you view photos I took this month in my garden.  ~Light, Love, and Blessings. Stay safe and healthy this month. Christina~
