You may be wondering why a holistic healing and spirituality business offers so many plant and gardening classes. Let me explain to you why…..

As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul…”― Hermes Trismegistus

This is my favorite quote. It deeply resonates with me for a number of reasons. The concept implies that the cosmos is linked to nature and that the microcosm and the macrocosm are connected. We are divine and the divine is us. The earth is a mirror of the larger universe. One way I personally interpret this quote is that we can connect to the divine through nature. Plants and Spirituality. Spirituality is a personal and individual practice of developing one’s inner reality/inner path. Spirituality is feeling like a whole and complete person with meaning and purpose. It’s searching inside yourself for the answer. It is an inner path enabling you to discover the true essence of your being; the deepest values, morals, and meanings by which you live. It’s a feeling as if there is something greater than yourself; a higher power or a higher being, nature or the cosmos. You feel that you are more than just a physical body. You feel connected to others and to your surroundings. Spirituality is often experienced as a source of inspiration or orientation in life.

Nature has been an incredible teacher to me in developing and deepening my spirituality. Nature is my church. A beautiful sunset is a mystical experience. Admiring beautiful plants and flowers inspires me. Walking through the forest, I feel so connected and a part of something much greater than myself. Caring for a garden; watching it grow; harvesting it; then making food or medicine or art from those same plants I grew gives my life so much purpose and meaning.  I am both a creator and a caretaker. Humans forget that we too are nature. When we get out of sync with the natural rhythms, the seasons, and earth’s creations we can feel existential emptiness. Being attentive to the cycles of nature can impact your spiritual, physical, and emotional health for the better.

The human/plant connection can be traced back all the way to prehistory (the time before writing systems were developed). We find that different cultures around the world, for thousands and thousands of years, have been utilizing plants as medicine, for fun, for ritual, for divination, for altered consciousness, for decoration, for food, for clothing, for art, and for aroma/perfumery. Plants are and have always been the principal form and oldest form of medicine for the majority of the world, since the beginning of time. Several diverse lines of evidence indicate that medicinal plants represent the most widespread form of medication. The use of herbal medicines has been documented for over 6000 years. Anthropologists and archeologists have found evidence that prehistoric man took medicinal plants and botanicals to cure health problems. In addition to using plants for medicine, the act of gardening and caring for plants can also improve all areas of your life and wellbeing…physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Spending time outside is good for our bodies and our minds. Research has shown gardening can help us: connect to others, connect to nature, connect to something greater than ourselves, help us be in the present moment, reduce stress and depression, improve mood, provide us with exercise and fresh air, and helps us reach higher states of consciousness through mindfulness. Plants are amazing!

My mother and grandfather were both avid gardeners. I grew up a little girl among the flowers. I started my professional and personal journey into holistic healing over 20 years ago with aromatherapy and essential oils. I then evolved into an herbalist and more recently, a gardener. I had a spiritual awakening in 2005. At that time, I lived on a 200-acre farm in the middle of nowhere. That time immersed in nature changed my life. I am a Certified Aromatherapist, Herbalist, Natural Perfumer, have Wisconsin Master Gardener Training and a PhD in Health Psychology with 22 years of higher education and experience in psychology, spirituality, holistic healing, and natural health. I am a Member of the American Botanical Council, I am the Project Chair of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center Indoor Garden, I teach Continuing Education Gardening Classes at University of Wisconsin Green Bay, I am a Botanical Artist, and a supporter of organic farming and non–GMOS. My business-Mind, Soul, and Self LLC believes plants are essential to spirituality and holistic healing. Enhance your spirituality, connection to nature, and holistic healing abilities. Ok….now to the Photoblog…..

February 2020 Photoblog: Care for yourself while caring for mother earth! Connect to the divine by connecting to nature! It’s hard for me to put all of this into words, so let me show you with pictures:

**All photos are the property of Christina Wilke-Burbach. All rights reserved ***

My PhotoBlog: I have come to understand, true ways to heal spiritually, psychologically and emotionally are non-verbal: through art, music, movement, meditative states, and bodywork/energy work. The language of the soul/psyche is symbols, images, colors, vibrations, sensations, and patterns; we communicate this non-verbally. I have been on an incredible personal growth journey of my own the past few years into the world of art. I have become very involved with John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) in Sheboygan, WI. I am the chair of the JMKAC Indoor Gardens, a member of the Friends of the Arts Council, and a museum docent (teacher/tour guide). I try to take a new art class every month. I started joining my artist husband in his art studio to paint and experiment with making art. Coincidentally, my old office space was located in an art gallery and my current office space is in an entire building of art studios. My preferred social media has become Instagram. I try to post a new photograph every day. I have enjoyed experimenting with art and photography as ways to express myself. So I have decided to have a photoblog to complement this personal and professional journey that I am on.

‘Neroli’

Life happens. Things beyond our control and things within our control. A loved one may pass away. We don’t have the money to pay a bill. Our car breaks down. We get into an agreement with a friend. Stress at work is unbearable. We have too much to do and not enough time to do it. We all experience hard times. Sometimes it seems like nothing can go our way and we think the universe hates us. We ask “why me?” We just want to scream and cry in frustration. Neroli essential oil offers comfort, calmness, and a warm embrace to help you cope with and recover from difficult times.

Neroli (Citrus aurantium var. amara) is distilled or solvent extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. It is also known as orange blossom or orange flower. It is native to India and China. It has a florally citrus aroma; soft and beautiful. Neroli essential oil can be pricey due to the number of flowers required to produce the essential oil as well as the production process itself. But it is a wonderful addition to your natural health care. Neroli essential oil is very relaxing and can relieve chronic anxiety, depression, fear, shock, agitation, and stress. Neroli Oil is a powerful sedative and is regarded as one of the best antidepressant remedies. Neroli resonates with the Heart Chakra and can evoke higher emotions like peace, joy, love, compassion, gratitude, and serenity. It can relax and soothe the soul and uplift the spirit. It brings balance to the mind, heart, emotions, and soul.

Recipe for Serenity, Peace, and Comfort
• 3 drops Neroli Essential Oil
• 1 drop Lemon Balm (Melissa) Essential Oil
• 5 drops Mandarin Essential Oil
• 1 drop Rose Essential Oil
• 5 drops Cedarwood Essential oil
• ½ ounce vegetable oil like coconut, almond, or grapeseed
• A little bottle, bowl, or container to mix oils in

Directions: This blend is meant to be inhaled. As you prepare the blend, have the thoughts and intent that you are inviting calmness, serenity, and peace into your life. Put a few drops in your hands, rub together, cup over your face, and deeply inhale several times. As you breathe in the aroma, state the affirmation: “I maintain my calm with inner peace and strength. I maintain my inner calm in the midst of chaos.”

‘Rosemary’

New Year, New You! The beginning of the year is traditionally a time for us to assess the previous year and to plan for the upcoming one. Many of us make resolutions and then abandon them halfway through the year. We start with really good intentions and begin the year highly motivated to bring change to many areas of our lives. But then discouragement sets in as we either get overwhelmed, stressed out, or unforeseen obstacles spring up along the way. Rosemary essential oil can assist you in clearing the way and overcoming these barriers.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) is a woody perennial aromatic shrub in the mint family. It is native to the Mediterranean area and grows well in the Midwest. The flowering tops are steam distilled to produce the essential oil. Rosemary can have several different chemotypes depending on where and how it is grown. Chemotypes are the same plant species, but the chemical makeup is different due to environmental differences like temperature, amount of light, elevation, etc. For example, Rosemary grown in Spain will have different chemical constituents that Rosemary grown in the United States. Due to the chemistry, each chemotype of Rosemary can have similar, yet slightly different uses. When a plant has a chemotype, it is designated in the botanical name. For instance, Rosmarinus officinalis ct. cineole has higher levels of the chemical 1, 8 cineole in it and is great for respiratory concerns. Rosmarinus officinalis ct. camphor contains more camphor and is better for muscles aches and pains. Rosmarinus officinalis ct. verbenone is a cell regenerator for the skin and is not quite as stimulating as the other two chemotypes. Overall, all the Rosemary chemotypes are invigorating, stimulating, and refreshing. Rosemary empowers the mind and is helpful for overcoming mental fatigue and sluggishness by stimulating and strengthening the entire nervous system. It enhances memory, focus, and mental clarity while aiding alertness and concentration. Rosemary (especially the Cineole and Camphor chemotypes) can help you cope with stressful conditions and see things from a clearer perspective. Rosemary can also provide you with support and self-confidence to help you trudge forward during difficult times. Rosemary also helps clear negative and dense energy in both your aura and environment. Often times we are our own biggest barrier with self-defeating beliefs and self-talk. Rosemary can help clear this rubbish out of the way. Inhalation and diffusion is the safest and most effective way to use essential oils for memory, mood, and concentration. Always make sure to dilute essential oils in a vegetable oil if applying topically. Please do not put Rosemary essential oil near or on the face of infants and children due to some of the active chemical constituents in Rosemary.

Recipe for Mental Clarity
• 3 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
• 4 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
• 2 drops Peppermint Essential oil
• 6 drops Orange Essential Oil

Directions: This blend is to be used in a diffuser. As you prepare the blend, have the thoughts and intent that you are ready to release energy, beliefs, patterns, and obstacles in your way. Turn the diffuser on and breathe in the aroma and state the following affirmation. “My thoughts are clear and focused. I am motivated, energized, invigorated, and will break through any barrier that gets in my way.”

December 2017 Great Central Sun Chakra Reading

December 2017 Great Central Sun Chakra Reading
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA
Mind, Soul, and Self LLC
mindsoulandself.com

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. December brings us to the Great Central Sun Chakra, a transpersonal chakra and your connection to God Consciousness. It is the highest vibrating chakra…all that ever was and all that ever will be. It is where you access higher consciousness, your higher self, and the divine. This month, the Great Central Sun asks you – Can you find God (the divine) in everything and everyone? Do you find God in yourself?

Brief Overview of Chakras: The Chakras are the main energy centers in our subtle body. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura or electromagnetic field. There are main Chakras, minor, subpersonal, and transpersonal Chakras. The Chakras’ function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. Each chakra is associated with certain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual interactions. Each chakra has personal growth themes, functions, and purposes. The concept of the Chakras has been around for thousands of years; but the energy coming to us from the cosmos is changing. We are receiving potent and new energies of high frequency light from the universe. The 7 main chakras were appropriate for us these past 2000 years. As we move into a new era, new chakras above and below the physical body are forming and others are waking up from dormancy to help us evolve into our new future.

The Great Central Sun Chakra is a Transpersonal Chakra and is located at the center of the universe. It is not in our physical body, but in our etheric/energy body. This chakra is located in the highest dimension. It is the highest vibrating energy center. Its color is usually seen as ultraviolet or iridescent. The Great Central Sun is the Source and Center of the Universe. God Consciousness. The Universal Mind. It releases cosmic rays, light and love to all of creation and all of the cosmos. The Great Central Sun is doorway to the cosmos and beyond. It is full consciousness, where you become one with the source energy/creator of all. It is the point of origin of all physical and spiritual creation.

December 2017 Grand Central Sun Chakra Forecast: December is a month filled with religious and spiritual celebrations. It is perhaps the ‘holiest’ of all the months in the calendar year. For many people, December is a time to share with family and friends and celebrate the divine. But what does the divine truly mean to you? This month, as you celebrate the holidays (Holy Days), take some time to contemplate your own divinity. Can you find God (the divine) in everything and everyone? Do you find God in yourself? Can you connect to the divine? How? Do you feel connected with your higher self? Do you feel a strong connection with the universe/God/The Divine? Are you aware of and celebrate this connection all year, or only on certain holidays?

Message: “Listen to your higher self and sense what it is asking of you. Connect with the stars as you stand on earth and feel what your soul is yearning for. Open your mind and your heart to all that is out there and see what feels right for you. You are not alone and only you can define the undefined for yourself. Allow your connection to source to flow through you until you feel infinite peace” ~Laurel Virtues Water

Great Central Sun Chakra Aromatherapy Blend
• 6 drops Lotus essential oil (Nymphaea caerulea)
• 5 drops Sacred Frankincense oil (Boswellia sacra)
• 4 Buddha Wood essential oil (Eremophila mitchelli)

This is a meditation blend meant for a diffuser. Prepare the oils in your diffuser and then lay down in a quiet space and close your eyes. Inhale the aroma and conceptualize/visualize what you think the source/universe/divine/God looks like to you. Visualize the center of the universe. As you do this, state the following affirmations: “I am connected to the Source and Center of the Universe. I honor the divinity inside me.”

November 2017 Soul Star Chakra Reading

November 2017 Soul Star Chakra Reading
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA
Mind, Soul, and Self LLC
mindsoulandself.com

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. November brings us to the Soul Star Chakra, a transpersonal chakra and the blueprint of your soul. It holds the record of all you ever were and all you ever will become. It holds all your past lives and your future lives. This month, the Soul Star asks you to explore why you reincarnated at this time. What are your soul lessons and life purpose?

The Soul Star Chakra is a Transpersonal Chakra and is located about 6 inches above the top of the head, above the crown chakra. It is not in our physical body, but in our etheric/energy body. Its color is usually seen as white, silver, gold, ultraviolet, or iridescent. The Soul Star Stores the soul’s highest purpose above and beyond all individual incarnations. The soul’s blueprint. It is through this chakra that a soul enters a physical body during incarnation. After death, the seed of an enlightened being remains in the soul star. You enter the Soul Star when you die to gain perspective on your life. It connects to higher self, Soul purpose, life tasks, soul groups, soul mates, and pre-destined soul contracts. Our entire being’s karmic residue, those energy patterns that you have held on to for more than one lifetime, is held in the eighth chakra carrying thought forms created over the life of our entire being caused by other lives actions and community consciousness. When attuned and activated, the Soul Star allows access to the Akashic records, the soul’s intent in this particular incarnation, stores the soul’s highest purpose above and beyond all individual incarnations.

November 2017 Soul Star Chakra Forecast: Henry Bolduc was a certified hypnotherapist with almost 40 years’ experience in past-life research. Through his work, he believed “every soul reincarnates in a particular lifetime for one of three reasons. First, we may reap the benefits of grace resulting from the good we have done for others in the past; second, we may correct our faults, thus balancing our good and bad deeds – referred to as karma; and third, we may experience life in such a way that we can contribute to the ocean of life.” This month, the higher energies want you to explore your purpose in this lifetime and your reasons for incarnating. Are you here to receive blessings and grace for good deeds in a previous incarnation? Are you here to continue to learn soul lessons? Are you here a healer and visionary to raise the vibration and help heal the world and humanity during these difficult times?

Soul Star Chakra Aromatherapy Blend
• 8 drops Palo Santo essential oil
• 8 drops Elemi essential oil
• 8 drops Frankincense oil
• 8 drops Myrrh essential oil
• 8 drops Angelica essential oil
• 4 ounces distilled water

The above blend is meant for a spray or mister. Blend the essential oils into 1 teaspoon of vodka or witch hazel (to help disperse the oils into water) and then blend into 4 ounces of distilled water in a spray bottle. Mix well. Spray the blend above your head and feel the mist fall down on you. Inhale the aroma and visualize your soul star chakra glowing brightly as a white golden ball of light about 6 inches above your head. As you do this, state the following affirmations: “I am connected to all my past lives and all my future lives. I am connected to my soul group and soul’s mates. I connect to higher self, Soul purpose, life tasks and pre-destined soul contracts. I release my karmic residue.”

October 2017 Heart of Mother Earth Reading

October 2017 Heart of Mother Earth Chakra Reading
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA
Mind, Soul, and Self LLC
mindsoulandself.com

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. October brings us to the Heart of Mother Earth Chakra, the chakra the farthest down, the one that plugs us into the heart chakra of Gaia. This month, the Heart of Mother Earth asks you to ponder the famous quote by the philosopher and mystic Hermes Trismegistus: “As above, so below, as within, so without, as the universe, so the soul.” Are you as connected to mother earth and all of her energies as you are to the heavens and source energies?

The Heart of Mother Earth Chakra is a subpersonal chakra and is located at the heart chakra of Gaia/Mother Earth. (Yes! The earth has Chakras and energy centers). It is not in our physical body, but in our etheric/energy body. It is the farthest chakra down in our extended energy system and it is where we plug directly into the heartbeat of Earth. Its color is usually seen as brown, magenta, olive, deep red, or some other earth tone. This chakra is our ultimate connection to the physical plane and mother Gaia. She keeps you safe and protected. She is the great mother. She is also the great energy recycler and transmuter.

October 2017 Heart of Mother Earth Chakra Forecast: In my work as a spiritual counselor and holistic healing facilitator, I see many clients and students who want to learn how to connect with their higher self, universe, source energy, sun, moon, stars, angels, and spirit guides. They want to establish a meditation practice and build and develop their intuitive and psychic abilities. The “As Above” energies. I definitely do not see as many concerned about connecting to the “So Below” energies of Gaia, the elements and elementals, the fairies, gnomes, elves, nature, plants, and animals. The earth energies I spoke of in September’s Reading (hurricanes, monsoons, wildfires) are still quite intense as now Volcanos are also erupting. Mother Earth is demanding our attention right now. “As Above, So Below.” As you connect to the heavens, make sure you also nurture and develop your connection to earth. How do you connect to the Earth? How can you strengthen that connection? Immerse yourself in nature. Garden and dig your hands in the dirt. Drum and dance. Go hiking, kayaking, swimming. Bring plants and crystals into your home. Walk barefoot. Go outside and listen to the sounds of nature. Hug a tree!

Heart of Mother Earth Chakra Aromatherapy Blend
• 3 drops Rose essential oil
• 5 drops Patchouli essential oil
• ½ ounce vegetable oil like jojoba or coconut

The above blend is a topical blend. Blend the essential oils into the vegetable oils and mix well. Rub a few drops of the blend onto your heart chakra at the center of your chest. Inhale the aroma and visualize your heart chakra merging with the earth. As you do this, state the following affirmations: “I am connected to the heart of mother earth. I am safe and secure.”

September 2017 Earth Star Chakra Reading

September 2017 Earth Star Chakra Reading
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA
Mind, Soul, and Self LLC
mindsoulandself.com

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. September brings us to the Earth Star Chakra, the center of Planetary Consciousness and where we grounded our light body and soul to the Earth’s energy grid. This month, the Earth Star Chakra asks you to explore your connection to Mother Earth and Mother Ocean. Are you aware that Earth is a living entity? Do you respect the power of nature? Are you a protector of Earth and Nature?

The Earth Star Chakra is a subpersonal chakra and is located about 6 to 12 inches below your feet. Not in the physical body, but in the etheric body. In line with the spine. Usually seen as brown, magenta, or deep red in color. Forms a pyramid with minor chakras in soles of feet. This is the Chakra that connects you to the Planet, both land and ocean. And since more than half the planet is water, the Earth Star chakra has a large water component. This chakra brings us awareness of the Earth as a living entity. When fully functioning, this energy center will resonate with sacred energy spots; warn us of impending storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.; and open communication between us and the planet. The Root Chakra grounds the main chakras within the physical body. The Earth Star grounds the entire extended multidimensional energy system; it’s the Super Root. It’s your anchor into the earth plane; your grounding cord for your Light Body. Its where you ground yourself to the Earth’s crystalline grid and leylines.

September 2017 Earth Star Chakra Forecast: There is much turmoil going on right now with Earth’s elements; especially with Mother Ocean. It is hurricane season. Hurricane Harvey just brutally hit Texas and Hurricane Irma is projected to hit the Florida area soon. There is flooding in Asia with the monsoons. The fire element is also strong right now as there are wildfires out West in Montana and California. Many disrespect nature and her creations with litter, pollution, and destruction. She unleashes her power to demand our respect. As the center of Planetary Consciousness, the Earth Star Chakra asks you, how do you honor and respect the Earth? Are you part of the problem or the solution? Start making choices to take better care of the Earth, to be an Earth Protector. Respect the Earth and Nature. Do not pollute, destroy, and harm her. Help Mother Earth and give her and her creations aide in time of need. Be in harmony with all of those who walk upon the Earth. Have love and gratitude for the animals, birds, flowers, trees, plants, oceans, lakes, rivers, forests, hills, mountains, earth, water, fire, and air. Give offerings to the Earth. Earth Offerings are gifts of food, drink, crystals, flowers, and herbs used to thank the elemental energies of Earth. Often these gifts are given to the Earth as part of meditation, prayer, celebrations, or ritual. Open yourself to the power of the Earth, Sky, and Ocean. Doing so will strengthen your Earth Star and your connection to Mother Earth and her powerful energies.

Earth Star Chakra Elemental Aromatherapy Blend

• 2 drops Cinnamon essential oil (fire)

August 2017 Crown Chakra Reading

August 2017 Crown Chakra Reading

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. August brings us to the Crown Chakra, the center of spirituality, enlightenment, transcendence, oneness, awakening, and understanding. This month, the Crown Chakra asks you to explore your connection to all the dimensions around you; the spiritual world as well as the earth plane. Are you connected to the divine, humanity, and your higher self? Or do you feel alone in the universe, disconnected from the source and your soul?

Brief Overview of Chakras: The Chakras are the main energy centers in our subtle body. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura or electromagnetic field. There are main Chakras, minor, subpersonal, and transpersonal Chakras. The Chakras’ function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. Each chakra is associated with certain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual interactions. Each chakra has personal growth themes, functions, and purposes. The concept of the Chakras has been around for thousands of years.

The Crown Chakra is located at the top of the head. It’s functions and purposes include spiritual connection, enlightenment, transcendence, awakening, serenity, beliefs, morals, understanding, thought, awareness, knowledge, wisdom, universal intelligence, pure consciousness, karma, grace, and bliss. It is humanity’s connection to the universe and that, which is beyond death. In Sanskrit, Sahasrara means “thousand petaled,” because this chakra is said to be in the form of a lotus with 1,000 petals arranged in 20 layers and resides in the “plane of truth and reality.” There are over a thousand names for God, yet it remains nameless and formless. The lessons and goal of the Crown Chakra is to guide us into developing our spirituality, achieving enlightenment, and understanding the secrets of the universe as well as the bigger picture in our own lives. Crown Chakra needs that must be met for transformation and transcendence to occur include having a spiritual connection, faith, and oneness with all.

August 2017 Crown Chakra Forecast: As the center of oneness, the Crown Chakra asks for an honest inventory of your spiritual life and connection to the world around you. Are you fulfilled with your human relationships? Or is something missing? Do you believe in something greater than yourself? Do you have a strong relationship with the universe/God/Mother Earth/The Divine? Can you connect to the divine? How? Do you feel connected with your higher self? Is the divine a relationship you nourish or allow to sit on the backburner? Are you too busy in your life to make room for what is really important? This month, it’s time for your mind to step out of the way of your soul…..

Crown Chakra Aromatherapy Blend:
• 3 drops Frankincense essential oil
• 5 drops Myrrh essential oil
• 4 drops Spikenard essential oil
• 3 drops Palo Santo essential oil
• 2 drops Angelica essential oil

The above blend is meant for a diffuser. Place the drops into the diffuser and as you turn on, deeply inhale the aroma and breathe it out through your crown chakra at the top of the head. Visualize your crown chakra beaming up to the heavens. As you do this, state the following affirmations: “I am integrated, whole, complete and one with the divine energy. I am connected to the source, guides, guardians, and my angels.”

July 2017 Third Eye Chakra Reading

July 2017 Third Eye Chakra Reading

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. July brings us to the Third Eye Chakra, the center of insight, vision, and intuition. I firmly believe that intuition is not a “gift” only some are lucky enough to have. I believe intuition is an innate ability we all have. Some of us are just too busy sleep walking through life to notice messages from the divine. This month, the Third Chakra asks you to tune inward…. Do you believe in intuition? Do you honor and listen to your intuition? Do you trust your intuition?

Brief Overview of Chakras: The Chakras are the main energy centers in our subtle body. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura or electromagnetic field. There are main Chakras, minor, subpersonal, and transpersonal Chakras. The Chakras’ function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. Each chakra is associated with certain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual interactions. Each chakra has personal growth themes, functions, and purposes. The concept of the Chakras has been around for thousands of years.

The Third Eye Chakra is located in the pineal gland, center of the forehead/brow area, and back of the head. It functions and purpose include clarity, seeing, intuition, insight, goals, dreams, aspirations, imagination, dreaming, visualization, inner sight, inner guidance, intelligence, self-realization, seeing your life clearly, and seeing the bigger picture. Its Sanskrit name is Ajna, which means “perception, knowledge, authority, and command.” Ajna honors the psychic within each of us. The lessons and goal of the Third Eye is to guide us into trusting our intuition and inner knowing. Third Eye Chakra needs that must be met for transformation and transcendence to occur include: the ability to dream and have goals and aspirations, realizing your personal potential, ability to see the whole picture and have insight, ability to find meaning, personal growth and peak experiences, self-actualization and self-fulfillment.

July 2017 Third Eye Chakra Forecast: Many think that all intuitive abilities are associated with the Third Eye; when in fact, each Chakra has an intuitive ability. The Chakras act as antennas that receive and interpret energy from the other realms. From clairsentience, to clairempathy, to claircognizance, we all pick up the subtle messages from the universe in a unique way and tend to have an intuitive ability that is more dominant than the others. There are many different ways to read and sense energy. Some feel, some know, some hear, some see, some taste, some smell. The key is learning to identify how you connect to the divine and then nurturing that ability by using it, strengthening it, and developing it. Sure everyone wants to be clairvoyant (see energy and see the spirit world), but that might not be the way you are psychic. This month, go inward in meditation and contemplation. Sit in silence. Be still. Be aware of all that is around you. How do YOU connect and communicate with the divine?

Third Eye Chakra Aromatherapy Blend
• 1 drop Tulsi (Holy Basil) essential oil
• 2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
• 3 drops Lavender essential oil
• 4 drops Sandalwood essential oil
• 1/2 ounce of a vegetable oil like coconut, jojoba, grapeseed or almond

Blend the essential oils into the vegetable oil then anoint your third eye. As you do this, repeat the following affirmations: “My inner vision is clear and strong. I see all things in clarity. I trust my intuition and inner vision and always understand the true meaning of life situations.”

June 2017 Throat Chakra Reading

June 2017 Throat Chakra Reading
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA

The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we are journeying through the Chakras and focusing on one Chakra a month. June brings us to the Throat Chakra, the center of communication and self-expression. This month, the Throat Chakra asks you to examine the story of your life; are you the author creating your own story, or do you let others write your story for you? Are you the main character in your life story or are you just secondary? Is your life story truthful or a work of fiction? Do you speak the truth to yourself and others?

Brief Overview of Chakras: The Chakras are the main energy centers in our subtle body. They are the openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura or electromagnetic field. There are main Chakras, minor, subpersonal, and transpersonal Chakras. The Chakras’ function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. Each chakra is associated with certain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual interactions. Each chakra has personal growth themes, functions, and purposes. The concept of the Chakras has been around for thousands of years.

The Throat Chakra is located in the throat and neck. It is the center of communication, expression, and where we experience the world non-verbally through vibration, sound, symbols, myths, and archetypes. The Throat Chakra teaches us lessons about self-expression. The Sanskrit name is Vishudda, which means “the pure place” or “especially pure.” So naturally, we must ask ourselves: Is my communication pure? Am I true to my word? Do I express myself both verbally and non-verbally with truth and clarity? Some Throat Chakra needs that must be met for healing and transcendence to occur include the ability to express one’s self non-verbally (through body language, music, art, etc), healthy verbal communication, and an appreciation for art and beauty.

June 2017 Throat Chakra Forecast: The Throat Chakra is the gateway for truth and communication. Stories are stored in the subconsciousness and told through the Throat Chakra. The Throat Chakra is where we access the archetypes, myths, and symbols that help give our life meaning, purpose, and guide our character traits and personalities. We are the storytellers of our life. It’s time to evaluate and critique your life story. Are you the author creating your own story, or do you let others write your story for you? Are you the main character in your life story or are you just secondary? Is your awareness, energy, and attention always on someone or something else? Is your life story truthful or a work of fiction? Do you speak the truth to yourself and others? What’s the biggest lie you have told yourself about your life and why it is where it is now? As the storyteller, you alone have the power to edit, rewrite, and modify things in your life that are no longer working for you. You are powerful over your situation.

Throat Chakra Aromatherapy Blend

    • 3 drops German (Blue) chamomile essential oil
    • 4 drops Rosemary essential oil
    • 5 drops Sage essential oil
    • 1 ounce of a vegetable oil like coconut, jojoba, or almond

Blend the essential oils into the vegetable oil then massage some over the throat and neck area. As you do this, repeat the following affirmations: “My thoughts are positive and I always express myself both verbally and non-verbally with truth and clarity. I am the storyteller of my life and have power over each and every situation.” Seal your intent by participating in a throat chakra activity such as singing, chanting, or listening to music.
