“Cinnamon”

cinnamon

As the calendar changes to November, Mother Nature becomes quiet, sleeps, and rests for the next several months. The wheel of light becomes dark. This is a time of inner work and self-reflection. This is a time to celebrate death and prepare for rebirth. We also officially begin the holiday season. There are dozens of holidays celebrated globally from November 1 to January 1, including Dia De Los Muertos, All Souls Day, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Yule, Christmas, and Kwanzaa.  Spicy aromas like ginger, nutmeg, and clove are strongly associated with autumn and the holidays. The intuitive essential oil for the month of November is the spiciest of them all, Cinnamon (Cinnamomum spp.). There are several species of Cinnamomum distilled to make essential oils including Cinnamomum verum, Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Cinnamom ceylanicum, and Cinnamomum cassia (known as Cassia).  The leaves and bark can both be used. Cinnamon is a very hot oil and it is generally not recommended that you use this oil topically (especially Cinnamon Bark) as it is very irritating to the skin. Cinnamon is great in the diffuser, especially when people are more prone to getting sick in the fall and winter. Cinnamon is a powerful immune booster, antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiviral agent.  But, my favorite way to use cinnamon is as a psychic protector. Cinnamon is one of the best tools for your energy toolbox. Traditionally witches’ brooms were made of cinnamon and the brooms were symbolically used to sweep the hearth and remove any negative energies from the space. Cinnamon is a suburb energy shield and energy protector. Even though cinnamon essential oil is delightful, I often prefer to use the actual herb.  I have put cinnamon sticks in the corners of rooms to raise the vibration, made cinnamon wands to cleanse space, and made charm bags for protection with cinnamon sticks, star anise, fennel seeds, and rosemary leaves. The more aware you become of energy, the more you understand how important energy protection and cleansing are to your daily routine.

My Cinnamon Forecast for November: Though many look forward to the holiday season, it is important to remember that others do not. Not everyone has family or a lot of loved ones and not everyone gets along with their family. This is a stressful time for some as an emphasis is put on buying gifts and overexerting yourself financially. Cinnamon reminds you to create and enforce strong boundaries, both physical, emotional, and energetic, with yourself and others during this season. Its ok to say no to others. Its ok to limit your time with some people because they drain you dry. You don’t have to empty your bank account and buy expensive gifts to show others you love them. Please be extra loving and compassionate to yourself during this time. And if you feel drawn to it, light a candle with the intent to send love and positive intent to those who may need a little extra blessing this season.

Recipe for Psychic Protection
• 3 drops Cinnamon
• 2 drops Anise
• 2 drops Fennel
• 3 drops Sage
• 4 drops Frankincense
• 6 drops Lavender

Mix the above oils in a 2-ounce spray bottle, add one tablespoon or vodka or witch hazel (to help mix the water/oil and disperse the spray) and then fill the remainder of the bottle with purified water. Use the spray to cleanse energy and protect your space and aura.  Be careful not to spray the eyes, skin, or breathe in the mist.

Aroma Reading for October 2016

Aroma Reading for October 2016

“Elemi”

elemi

As we move into October, when the sun is transiting through the constellation Libra (represented by scales), we start to see a shift into more balance. It’s been a turbulent year for many people but the winds are changing and it is starting to slowly calm down. So it’s appropriate that the intuitive essential oil for the month of October is Elemi (Canarium luzonicum). Elemi essential oil is distilled from the resin of this tropical tree. The aroma is unique and pleasant; a combination of citrus, dill, balsam, and grass. Like many resins (Frankincense, Myrrh), Elemi is useful for respiratory conditions, skin care, and releasing deep emotional pain. Energetically, Elemi balances all the chakras and our entire energy system, including the chakras above our physical body (Transpersonal) and below our physical body (Subpersonal). Elemi means “as above, so below” in Arabic. It has a unique yin/yang quality, helping to bring wholeness, integration, and completion. When we experience trauma and stress, our energy system gets off balance. Elemi can be extremely useful to restore harmony, peace, and uplift the spirit.

My Elemi Forecast for October: We are starting to see a shift in our lives to a more quiet, peaceful calm. The universe is slowly restoring balance in many areas of our lives, particularly in regards to job/career and interpersonal/relationships. This is a good time of the year to evaluate what you are ready to release, purge, and set free. I highly recommend that you do some sort of cleansing ritual, such as a fire ceremony, to release the hurts of the past and energy that doesn’t serve you a higher purpose/greater good anymore. This will help bring you into balance as you release the old to invite in the new.

Recipe for Balance
• 5 drops Elemi
• 3 drops Geranium
• 7 drops Bergamot

Use in a diffuser, make an aroma inhaler, blend in one ounce of a vegetable oil and use for anointing your chakras, or add to one ounce of water to make a mist or spray.

Aroma Reading for September 2016

Aroma Reading for September 2016

“Cypress”

cypress

Now is a time of great transition. September 1st unofficially marked the end of summer as children in this area went back to school. The Autumn Equinox is this month and the leaves will start changing color and fall. It is also currently Mercury Retrograde, and September 1st was the new moon and a partial solar eclipse. All these astrological events symbolize new beginnings and movement towards a greater clarity in your life. This has personally been a very rough summer for me and my family with unexpected deaths and big changes. I am looking forward to the changing of the season with hope and positivity. I think we all could use some sunshine and blessings right now. So it is very fitting that the intuitive essential oil for the month of September is Cypress (Cupressus sempervirens). To me, Cypress overwhelming symbolizes transition. As a tree, Cypress also symbolizes strength, especially in healing deep, painful inner wounds. It reminds you that you are stronger than you think you are. Do not doubt yourself. This oil is here for you to comfort and support you in times of change, whatever your change may be; death, loss of a relationship, new job, new home. Cypress whispers to us, “this too, will pass.” Emotionally, Cypress is calming and assists in grief and loss. Physically, Cypress is beneficial for circulation, cellulite, for balancing skin, helps regulate menstruation, and for asthma and coughs. Spiritually and energetically, Cypress reminds me of the Footprints in the Sand poem:

“One night I had a dream… I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and Across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way; But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me. The Lord replied, “My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

Let Cypress carry you in your darkest and lowest times. It will not leave you in your time of need.

My Cypress Forecast for September 2016: Are you a mental time traveler? Do you travel to the past in your memories and thoughts and ruminate over things that happened and wonder what you would have and could have done differently? Do you torment yourself by playing things out in your mind over and over again? Are you full of grief, guilt, and despair? The past is passed. Sometimes we need to let it be otherwise it will kill us emotionally and drain us dry. Everything is a life lesson if we choose to learn from it. Everything happens for a reason. Thank the universe for the lessons. Thank loved ones now gone for sharing their life with you and that you will see them again one day. Try to move forward with strength and hope. If you find yourself visiting the past in sadness, you can bring yourself back into the here and now, back into your body with your breath. Breathe in deep, and count your breath in and out. Be here, be still, be present, be in the now. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ~Dr. Seuss

A blend for grief and loss
• 7 drops Cypress
• 5 drops Myrrh
• 4 drops Rosewood (or Ho wood)
• 2 drops Rose

For use in a diffuser. You can also dilute in one ounce of a carrier oil (like coconut oil or jojoba) and apply topically to your heart chakra area. Repeat the following affirmation as you breathe in the aroma: “Heal my heart, heal my soul, bring me peace.” Namaste.

This blend is dedicated to my loved one, Kali. Rest in peace baby girl.

Aroma Reading for August 2016

Aroma Reading for August 2016
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA
mindsoulandself.com

“Galbanum”

Galbanum
The intuitive essential oil for the month of August is Galbanum (Ferula galbaniflua). Galbanum has a unique fresh, earthy, green smell that definitely reminds me of summertime. It is an herb in the parsley and carrot family that has a long history of use as an incense and sacred plant since ancient times. It is believed the Egyptians used the resin for embalming.  To obtain the essential oil, incisions are made in the stalk of the plant and a gum seeps out. The gum is hardened and forms a resin which is then steam distilled. Like other resins, Galbanum has skin healing, anti-inflammatory, and respiratory healing properties. I find it particularly useful for emotional, spiritual, and energetic healing. It can be used to assist in meditation, purification, grounding, and centering. Inhale the oil and pair it with affirmations and personal growth work to heal deep emotional wounds.  I focus on using it in integration. Integration is pulling all your energies together; your heart, emotions, soul, energy, physical body, etc and uniting all parts of you, making you whole and complete…all the pieces of the puzzle are put back together again. Great for when you feel scattered and pulled apart. I like to anoint the feet at the end of an energy healing session to integrate my clients and combine it with grounding and centering techniques.

My Galbanum forecast for August 2016: Are you having troubles with concentrating? Do you feel confused and pulled in a million different directions right now? Are you having troubles making a decision? Are you at a crossroads in your life? Do you feel scattered? Galbanum is encouraging you to slow down, take a deep breath, and quiet the mind. Do not try so hard. Relax. Go with the flow. Do not try to control your situation. By letting go of the need to control, you will find your answer. Take some time to meditation and sit in silence. The universe is giving you your answer, you just need to listen and pay attention.

Spiritual Powerhouse Blend
• 3 drops Galbanum
• 3 drops Frankincense
• 3 drops Palo Santo
• 3 drops Tulsi (Holy Basil)
• 3 drops Elemi
• 5 drops Lavender

Use in a diffuser, blend in one ounce of a vegetable oil and use for anointing, or add to one ounce of water to make a mist or spray.

Aroma Reading for July 2016

Aroma Reading for July 2016
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA

“Geranium”

Geranium_Pelargonium Graveolens

The intuitive essential oil for the month of July is Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens). Geranium has very feminine energy and is nurturing and comforting. It is cooling, sedating, relaxing, balancing, and is fabulous for anxiety, stress, nervousness, and tension.  I associate it with the Solar Plexus Chakra as it may regulate the adrenal glands and clear excess heat. I feel it is empowering, boosts confidence and self-esteem, and resonates with Solar Plexus themes and functions. It can be used to alleviate PMS and menopausal symptoms and regulate the reproductive system, making it a must have women’s oil. It can also be used as an insect repellant during this hot summer month.

My Geranium forecast for July 2016: The message I have received from the universe loud and clear for this month is to connect to goddess energy and the divine feminine. Regardless if you are male or female, focus on self-care and nurturing yourself this month, whether it is getting a massage, reading a good book, taking a day off of work, or allowing yourself to sleep in. Spend some time with your mother or grandmother if you are lucky enough to still have them in your life. Take a walk in nature and revel in the beauty of Mother Earth. Connect to the moon in the sky at night and infuse that energy into your aura and energy field. For the females: meet up with your girlfriends for coffee or cocktails or focus on rekindling old female friendships or creating new ones. Wrap the goddess energy around you this month and let it embrace you.

Goddess Blend
• 3 drops Jasmine
• 2 drops Rose
• 2 drops Clary Sage
• 2 drops Geranium
• 5 drops Neroli
Combine the essential oils together in an amber bottle and slightly swirl together to create a synergy. This blend is for inhalation via a diffuser, few drops on a cotton pad or tissue, or in an aroma inhaler. As you breathe in the aroma, state the following affirmations to yourself: “I invoke the goddess within. I am beautiful, nurturing, and worthy of love.”

Aroma Reading for June 2016

Aroma Reading for June 2016

By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA

www.mindsoulandself.com

“Night Blooming Jasmine”

Jasminum_sambac

The intuitive essential oil for the month of June is Jasmine (Jasminum sambac), also known as Arabian Jasmine or night-blooming Jasmine as the flowers open up at night and close in the morning. It is a shrub or vine with gorgeous white flowers and a highly exquisite and intoxicating aroma. I personally find the aroma headier and sweeter than Jasminum officinale and Jasminum grandiflorum. Though some call Jasmine the ‘King of the Flowers,’ I disagree and instead find it an incredibly feminine and sensual oil that I strongly associate with the moon goddess and the mysteries of the night. It balances the Sacral Chakra (a few inches below your belly button through to your sacrum) the seat of creativity, sexuality, sensuality, pleasure, joy, relationships, and feeling. Jasmine is also an aphrodisiac, commonly used for perfumery. Jasmine is playful, confident, alluring, passionate, charismatic, bewitching, and seductive. She calls forth the part of us that we have forgotten and can help you address relationship concerns. Jasmine essential oil is optimistic, sedating, and calming making it a fabulous emotional healer for depression, anxiety, stress, fear, restlessness, and insomnia. It is also a great oil for dry skin.

My Jasmine forecast for June 2016: June continues the healing that began in May. In our Aroma Reading last month, Fragonia asked you to contemplate spring cleaning your emotions and detoxing your soul. Were you holding on to patterns, emotions, and beliefs that no longer serve you a higher purpose? This month, Jasmine asks you to explore the darkness within, your shadow. Dive deep down into your psyche and face your demons. They are a part of you and have helped create you. Some of us only look for the light and run from the darkness. But this darkness will grow larger and more powerful the more you ignore it. In order to know your light and joy, you have to understand your darkness and pain. Yin and yang, duality, two sides to the same coin. Life is an ebb and flow with ups and downs. The goddess Jasmine will help you accept and heal your pain by using it as a catalyst for change. The darkness is a rite of passage into the light. It’s time to let go of what has tormented you for so long. You do not need to carry it anymore. Release it and be free.

 Jasmine Perfume (5% dilution)

  • 5 drops of Jasmine
  • 4 drops of Vanilla
  • 11 drops of Orange
  • 10 drops of Sandalwood
  • 1 ounce of Jojoba oil

Combine the essential oils in an Amber bottle. Lightly swirl them together to mix. If possible, let them sit for a few days to blend together and ‘marinade’ and then add the jojoba oil to dilute. Apply sparingly to pulse points.

Aroma Reading for May 2016

Aroma Reading for May 2016
By Christina Wilke-Burbach PhD, RMT, CA
www.mindsoulandself.com

“Fragonia”

fragonia

The intuitive essential oil for the month of May is Fragonia (Agonis fragrans). It is a shrub grown and distilled through only one producer in Western Australia.  Fragonia is a unique oil on many levels. First, it symbolizes balance as its chemical makeup is a 1:1:1 ratio of oxides, monoterpines, and monoterpenols. Its chemical makeup makes it useful as a respiratory oil, antimicrobial, sedative, anti-inflammatory. Secondly, due to its unique chemical proportions, the producer has trademarked this chemotype of Agonis fragrans, making it perhaps the only trademarked essential oil. Thirdly, it has a beautifully unique aroma….medicinal, citrusy, spicy, sweet, and woody all in one. Finally, Fragonia is one of the most powerful emotional healing and personal growth oils I have ever encountered. It dives deep into your psyche to help release old hurts and heal emotional wounds.  As a Holistic Psychologist, the primary way I use this oil is for emotional release. I have also used it in hypnosis and past life regressions. Fragonia would greatly assist therapists, counselors, and psychologists in psychoanalyses and deep processing techniques.  Inhalation via an aroma inhaler, directly out of the bottle, on a cotton pad or cotton ball, or diffuser will provide more powerful results than topical application. Fragonia is a powerful oil for your toolbox if you are a Reiki practitioner or energyworker. Diffuse this oil during your energy healing sessions to help clients release emotional blockages.

My Fragonia forecast for May 2016: This time of the year is typically associated with “spring cleaning.” We deep clean our home and clean out our gardens to remove the dead of winter and allow new growth to come forth.  Fragonia asks you to contemplate spring cleaning your emotions and detoxing your soul. Are you holding on to patterns, emotions, and beliefs that no longer serve you a higher purpose?  Are your emotions holding you back like a ball and chain? Are you ready to move forward into your highest potential? Remember, the only barriers to personal growth are the ones we ourselves have created.

Blend for Emotional Release
• 3 drops Fragonia
• 3 drops Grapefruit
• 3 drops Marjoram
• 3 drops Cedarwood
• 3 drops Roman Chamomile

This blend is meant for either creating an Aroma Inhaler or for in your diffuser. For an inhaler: blend the oils together in a shot glass or little bowl. Soak the cotton wick in the blend and then place into the inhaler. For diffuser: place oils directly into diffuser following the manufacturer’s directions for your type of diffuser.

Spend some time contemplating emotional traumas and wounds that you are ready to release to be transformed.  Clearly identify these negative emotions and patterns.  Think of the root or origin of these patterns. When did they start? How long have you had them? How have they impacted your life? What lessons have you learned? As you inhale the emotional release aromatherapy blend, state the following affirmation: “I release what no longer serves me a purpose. I am ready to move forward and step into my light.” Repeat several times. This is a good technique to do right before bed so your psyche can filter and process as you sleep. Also, as mentioned above, consider combing this blend with energywork modalities such as Reiki or Healing Touch.

emPATHETIC vs. Empowered Empath

Dirty%20AuraIf you are in the spiritual, metaphysical, healing arts, energy medicine, or personal growth fields, I’m sure you have heard the term ‘empath’ or ’empathy,’ particularly from others using this term to describe themselves.

The empathy people are speaking of is actually ‘Clair-empathy.’  This is literally the ability to put yourself in someone else’s shoes and feel what they are feeling. ‘Clair’ means clear and is the prefix used to describe intuitive and psychic abilities. Clairsentience is clear feeling (feeling the spirit/energy world), clairvoyance is clear sight (seeing the spirit/energy world), clairaudience is clear hearing (hearing the spirit/energy world), and clairempathy is clear emotion (feeling emotions from the spirit/energy world).

Clairempathy is the intuitive ability of the heart chakra and allows you to tap into other’s emotions and feelings and clearly feel them as if they were your own. Often times people are unaware they have this ability and/or are not skilled in working with it. They can get confused with where certain emotions are coming from and with what is happening. This can feel absolutely overwhelming and draining. Some empaths may find that they take on the emotions or symptoms of others. Being in large crowds, or around negative people can be uncomfortable and difficult. It can empty our battery and make us constantly tired and fatigued.  Empaths often are diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. But, are the negative emotions they feel their own or someone else’s? If this describes you, it is important to ask yourself where your feelings are coming from, particularly if you feel an emotion or physical symptom come on suddenly. Learn to distinguish and differentiate between your emotions and the emotions of others. Do not own others’ emotions. Do not take on their energy. Stay detached.

Empathy can be both a blessing and a curse depending on how you view it and what you do about it. The ability to truly understand someone and what they are feeling is the foundation of being an exceptional healing facilitator. Someone who utilizes and experiences their gift of empathy is empathetic. But empaths need to learn to turn up the volume when appropriate and turn it down to control their empathy and not let it control them.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of ‘pathetic’ is “causing feelings of sadness and sympathy.” When individuals become aware they are empaths and let themselves become victim to their empathy, allowing it to immobilize them and stay stuck and miserable, I call this emPATHETIC…. sadness and misery from having the gift of empathy.  Individuals complain and feel burdened by their empathy and do not learn skills to cope with being an empath. They allow it to torture them.  I have even seen clients allows their empathy to control them as a way to get sympathy from others as well as make excuses for bad behaviors…. “but I am an empath!!!”  Remember, you don’t have to feel like shit if you don’t want to. You can have 100% control over the way you feel.

I have worked in the counseling and psychology field for over 18 years. I specialized in addition counseling and dual diagnosis before moving into personal growth, spiritual psychology, and positive psychology in 2008. In all my previous client sessions with individuals with addiction, depression, personality disorders, etc, I have never seen anything render clients as helpless as EMPATHY. They become frozen and consumed. They are constantly tired because not only do they take on other’s energy and emotions, but they also give away their energy.

I too have clairempathy, but I do not let it control my life. Other’s negative energy/emotions can only effect you if you let it. Stop giving away your sunshine and your power. Reclaim your power and your energy. You don’t have to use empathy as a label and become a self-fulfilling prophesy of misery and stay stuck. Become an EMPOWERED EMPATH, not emPATHETIC!!

Dr. Christina’s Tips for Empowered Empaths:

1). Practice good energy hygiene. Just as many people shower or bathe their physical body most days you must also bathe your energetic body (aura). Cleanse your energy field every day. Smudging, meditation techniques, energywork, crystals, etc. It doesn’t matter what technique you use as long as you believe it works, have the intent that is works, and use it every day.  A technique that I like to do is called Release and Recover. I close my eyes and visualize or somehow become aware of my aura, the collection of energy around me. I scan my aura and identify pieces that don’t belong to me. I ask my angels/guides/the universe to send those pieces of energies back to their owners and release that energy and visualize the energy leaving my aura. Then I recover my energy that I have unintentionally given to others. I ask my angles/guides to bring back my pieces of energy that I have given away. I visualize those energies coming back to me and entering my aura. Then I clearly say to myself that “I am whole and complete. All pieces of the puzzle are put back together again.”

2). Practice energy protection and shielding techniques. A healthy aura is a collection of all of YOUR energies…not bits and pieces of others. A simple protection technique is a bubble of protection. Visualize a protective bubble of energy….kind of like a sleeping bag. It can be any color you wish, whatever comes to mind as being protective. I usually use purple, but that’s just me. Visualize yourself stepping into this bubble of protective energy, and pulling it up and around you. Pull it all the way over your head so you are completely encased in its protective warmth. Then “zip” it up, just like a sleeping bag. You are now encased in a protective bubble of energy. Then I program my bubble with my intent. “This is my bubble of protective energy. It protects me and keep me safe from unwanted energy. It keeps my energy to myself and keeps others’ energies off me.”

3). Practice having good energy boundaries. Learn where you begin and end and where others begin and end. My energy is mine and belongs to me. I love you, but I will not give you my energy, nor will I take on your energy. Have this as a clear intent. Remember, intent is everything. Energy flows where thoughts go.

4). Practice good physical, interpersonal, and emotional boundaries. Unfortunately, I have found many who let their empathy control them have poor emotional, physical, and relationship boundaries. Practice assertiveness. Learn that it is ok to say no if you don’t want to do something. Don’t let others touch you without your permission. Put yourself first….always. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

5). Be careful with your words and how you speak to yourself. Thinking thoughts like “I feel sorry for them,” gives your energy away to others. You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves.

6). Consider learning a form of energy healing, such as Reiki, to increase your vibration and to help you learn how to channel energy. You never want to give someone your own energy. We want to be channels. Healing energy that we send to others comes from the divine or mother earth. It should not come directly from us.

7). For those people who work with clients and patients, particularly hands-on-healing facilitators who touch clients (nurses, massage therapists, etc) and energy workers and psychics/mediums/intuitives, it is important to separate from your clients when you are done working with them. Cut all psychic ties with the client and separate your aura from the client’s aura. Declare to yourself that the healing session/reading is over.

Remember, you have ultimate control!! I wish you much love and light on your journey!

Inula

The intuitive essential oil for the month of April is Inula (Inula Graveolens). Inula is in the daisy/sunflower family and has a sweet medicinal but floral and intoxicating, powerful aroma. My husband and I were both pretty sick the past few weeks and I was drawn to use Inula (a few drops on a cotton pad and inhale for a few minutes at a time throughout the day). Inula is antibacterial, mucolytic, expectorant, antitussive, and an antihistamine. It is a great respiratory oil and helpful for head colds, coughs, congestion, and asthma.  There are no known hazards or contraindications with this oil. Please do not confuse it with the hazardous oil Inula helenium (elecampane). If Inula is distilled in a copper still, it will turn a beautiful emerald, turquoise, green color. This is a more expensive oil, but is so potent only a drop or two is needed. Due to its aroma, I personally prefer to use it by itself instead of in blends.

My Inula forecast for April 2016: Inula’s aroma, vibration, chemistry, and deep turquoise green color resonate with the higher heart chakra; the healers’ chakra located between the heart and throat. The higher heart asks you to think of how your actions impact not yourself, not others, but all of humanity. The higher heart is also a chakra of transition. Inula asks you to explore your role in helping move humanity forward during these turbulent times. Are you part of the problem or the solution? We are at a pivotal point in our collective journey right now. Be wise with your behaviors and decisions.

Blend and Meditation for the Higher Heart Chakra
• One drop Inula
• One drop Ho wood (or Rosewood)
• One drop Thyme

Place drops of oil on a cotton ball or cotton pad.
Close your eyes and deeply breathe in the aroma. Put your awareness and your attention on the higher heart chakra. Visualize healing energy coming directly from source/divine/heavens down through your crown chakra….through your third eye…..through your throat….through to the Higher Heart… Allow compassion to build up within your higher heart….allow unconditional love for all to build up in your higher heart…….. ….You are completely full of higher heart chakra energy. Have the intent that you want to send healing energy to help heal the world and all of humanity. Feel your higher heart chakra expanding and getting larger and larger…..its filling your entire chest, your entire body……Feel the expansion of your higher heart chakra to encompass everything in the room, outside the room, all the way to the center of the earth all the way around and completely covering the earth. Feel your turquoise higher heart energy healing the world.

When you are ready, bring your higher heart energy back into your center. Relax…..breathe in and breathe out…return to normal space and time. Namaste

“Roman Chamomile”

roman chamomile

The intuitive essential oil for the month of March is Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis). Roman Chamomile is calming, relaxing, and is great for anxiety, stress, migraines, headaches, and sleeping problems. It is one of the best oils for spasms and can relax the nerves. It assists with digestive ailments and can also help with aches and pains. It has a very pleasing aroma…smells a bit like hay and apples. Roman Chamomile is one of the safest and gentlest essential oils and can be used with children and pets (avoid if you have hay fever or are allergic to other members of the daisy family). Energetically, chamomile resonates with the solar plexus chakra and helps calm and transform agitated low vibrating emotions like anger, anxiety, and stress. Chamomile is sunny, full of life, peace, and optimism and is symbolic of the approaching Spring Equinox. Life is going to get brighter and things will get better.

My Chamomile forecast for March 2016: Have you been feeling a bit frazzled and on edge? Stressed? Frustrated? Having a hard time sleeping? Slow down and take a moment to breathe. Be in the here and now. Be in the present. We are a society of overbooking, overscheduling, and always on the go. Its ok to be still. Its ok to slow down. Chamomile encourages you to take some ‘me time’ to rest, relax, renew, and rejuvenate and then emerge radiant and vibrant with the approaching Spring!

Pillow Mist Recipe for Insomnia

• 8 drops Neroli
• 12 drops Atlas Cedarwood
• 2-ounce spray bottle
• Distilled water
• 1 tablespoon vodka or witch hazel

Directions: Place the vodka or witch hazel in the spray bottle (this acts as a dispersant since water and oils do not mix). Add the essential oils then the gently swirl to blend together. Add the distilled water. When you are ready to go to bed, mist the spray several times on your pillow. Then lay down, breathe in deeply through your nose, hold your breath for a few moments, then slowly breath out your mouth, Repeat the deep breathing for a few rounds as you drift off to sleep. Sweet dreams!
