The Chakras are an ideal roadmap for personal growth and development. In 2017 we started our journey through the Chakras and focused on one energy center a month. We are going to keep on going in 2018! On our monthly adventure, I am going to educate you about a specific Chakra or a Chakra concept and then ask you to contemplate its function and roll in your own personal growth. I saved my monthly blog until the end of this month, for a very special reason. Many of you know that I believe the solstices and equinoxes are very powerful times of the year for spiritual development, transformation, and personal growth. This final month of 2018, December, we are going to celebrate and harness the power of The Winter Solstice and Full moon (simultaneously happening December 21/22) by channeling those energies through our Chakras.

Brief Overview of the Chakras:
The Chakras are openings for life energy to flow into and out of our aura or electromagnetic field. There are main Chakras, minor, subpersonal, and transpersonal Chakras. The Chakras’ function is to vitalize the physical body and to bring about the development of our self-consciousness. Each Chakra is associated with certain physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual interactions. Each Chakra has personal growth themes, functions, and purposes.

The concept of the Chakras has been around for thousands of years; but the energy coming to us from the cosmos is changing. We are receiving potent and new energies of high frequency light from the universe. The main Chakras (Root to Crown) were appropriate for us these past 2000 years. As we move into a new era, chakras above, inside, and below the physical body are forming and others are waking up from dormancy to help us evolve into our new future. Our journey through the Chakras will focus on ALL of these Chakras; main, minor, subpersonal, and transpersonal.

Yule, or Winter Solstice, is the longest night of the year. The Winter Solstice marks the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere. We enter the time of the greatest dark. The Winter Solstice is the dark of the longest night but we also begin our turn toward the sun. Days grow longer beginning December 22, and in Earth-based traditions, this is a time of hope and preparation. At Winter Solstice, we call out with our spirit for the return of the light, and we honor its return. The longest night of the year is honored by many traditions as a sacred and rich time. The longest night is a fruitful time for setting intentions, to be birthed with the newborn Sun. The dark before the dawn, can be a powerful moment of magic, drawing in what you’d like to manifest in the New Year.

Enjoy the following meditation. I used it the last time I held a Winter Solstice Women’s Retreat that simultaneously coincided with a Full Moon.

Full Moon Winter Solstice Chakra Meditation:
Close your eyes, relax, and breathe deeply. Let your breathing become slow, deep, easy. Relax and continue breathing deeply and gently as…We enter the time of the greatest dark. It is the dark of the longest night.
…the dark of the cold universe between the stars and planets.
…the dark of the sea,
…the dark of the womb.

Wrap this darkness gently about you like a comfortable blanket. Float gently now in its depths. Take a few deep breaths with your intention to help clear your mind and open your heart. As you breathe, tap into your soul. You are very safe, comfortable, and secure.

From this magical place of surrender, feel yourself lifting from the Earth. A mystical energy draws you forward into the night air. You feel yourself moving across the Earth, as if magnetic forces are dancing beneath you, keeping you from touching-down. The force is taking you into an outdoor clearing where the dark, sparkling sky sprinkles starlight down onto your being.

Visualize the huge bright Winter Solstice Full Moon hanging above you in the sky. It is glowing bright. You can see the contours of the moon. You note the marbleized-gray granite effect of our familiar moon.

The light of the Moon is glowing all around you, lighting-up every creature and every landscape, clear as daylight. The glow of the moon warms you from outside in. Allow yourself to be fully enveloped by the moon’s light. Allow yourself to be showered by its positive energies. Absorb as much energy as you need from the Moon.

Set your true desire of your heart, your unselfish happiness. Focus on your intent. What do you want to create? What do you want to bring into your life? See it clearly in front of you. Begin to send the Full Moon’s energy from within you to your desire. Surround your happiness with the moon’s light until your aura shines. Hold this image for as long as wish to do so.

Inhale deeply, filling your lungs with the cool, crisp evening air, exhale slowly releasing stress and tension. Allowing yourself to detach from your body and mind, as you relax deeper and deeper. Each deep breath in and out takes you deeper and deeper into relaxation. Now bathing completely in the moonlight, raise your focus to the moon. Feel her energies blessing your face. Feel her cool, clear energy enliven your spirit and her purifying energy manifest your desires for happiness.

Relax more deeply. Join together in three more breaths. Breathing in stillness, breathing out tension. You are here to open to the magical blessings of the moon. Focus on your intention for a moment, and then release it to the universe to be manifested. Release all thoughts; let them float away like stardust.

Repeat to yourself 3 times:
I am a vessel of moonlight …
I am one with the moonlight …
I am the moonlight …

*Connect to the silver-liquid light pouring down from the moon. It is a river of radiance flowing down upon you, streaming into your crown chakra at the top of your head. Sahasrara: our universal identity, our enlightenment. Flowing intention over your skin, infusing your aura with silver energy.

*Allow the energy in your crown to flow down onto your being & enlighten your Third Eye chakra, Ajna: our intuition and spiritual connection infusing your aura with silver-violet light.

*Continue the energy flow down to your throat chakra, Visuddha: our self-expression to the external world and infusing your aura with silver-blue light.

*Continue the energy flow down to your higher heart chakra…your center of servitude and healing infusing your aura with silver-turquoise light.

*Continue the energy flow down to your arms with radiant light, and onto your heart chakra, Anahata: our compassion and our ability to heal, our bridge from the self to our world-consensus; infusing your aura with silver-green light.

*Continue the energy flow down to your solar plexus, Manipura: our balance of self-worth and ego; infusing your aura with silver-yellow light.

*Continue the energy flow down to your sacral chakra, Svahisthana: our foundation of creativity, love and passion; infusing your aura with silver-orange light.

*Continue the energy flow down to your root at the base of your spine chakra, Muladhara: Our survival chakra, essential for motivation and world perception. Allow the red aura to flow through your legs & down into the Earth; infusing your aura with silver-red light.

*Now allow the silvery colors of your moon aura to flow upwards towards the moon and again downwards towards the earth. Follow your breath and let your attention be a continuous stream of consciousness as above, so below. That which is below corresponds to that which is above, and that which is above corresponds to that which is below. Be present with the energies of the Winter Solstice and the Full Moon as you meditate in silence.

From the Winter Solstice until the summer Solstice, you will easily and effortlessly shed outmoded beliefs, patterns, habits, people and material goods that have been holding you back from full expression of yourself.

When you are ready to come out of this meditation, allow your energy centers to send more love into the Earth for healing. Bringing yourself back into your seated-self. Become aware of your physical body and the Earth beneath you. Still feeling yourself bathed in the moonbeams of cleansing, purifying white light. Take the time to listen to a few deep breaths.

Happy Holidays, Happy Solstice, and Happy Full Moon! Much love and light and moonbeams to you in 2019. See you next year! ~ Christina
